I finally got this mounted on a foamboard covered with dark fabric. This is my first goldwork and I really treasure it. I have learned a lot of new techniques. Thank you, Sir Gelo, for the generous and kind tutorial on goldwork.
Here is the vestment as it was worn by the wooden image, right after it was finished.

I did not embroider the CAPE.
Image,cape and accessories owned by my mentor.
Finished after 82 hours (from design to dressing up the image).
Materials are sythetic metallic threads, cords, disks and beads and velvet cloth.
(Looking at the plants in this photo, I thought this is more like Finding Jesus in the Garden, rather than in the Temple. lol!)
Dressing up the image is not the same as dressing up a human being. It was tricky because the elbows do not move and are bent permanently. It’s a good thing the arms and head can be removed.
